(x) The Jean-Marie Vanmeerbeeck Collection of Numismatic Portraits from Medieval Flanders and Tudor England | James II (1685-1688), Half-Guinea, 1686, laureate head left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, three strings to Irish harp, edge obliquely milled, 4.18g [64.6grns], 6h (MCE 132; EGC 338; Schneider II, 459; Spink 3404), a broad striking with light nailmarking in otherwise lustrous and quite brilliant fields, delightfully choice with a remarkably bold portrait for type, a most pleasing extremely fine, rare in this excellent condition
