Auction: 22003 - Orders, Decorations and Medals
Lot: 499
Beaumaris Volunteer Infantry, a silver regimental prize Medal, the obverse with a longboat with slanted shield of three lions mounted to the mast with Beaumaris Volunteer Infantry around the edge, the reverse engraved 'Wm Vaughan 1804 Best Shot of the Compy', very fine.
Medal recorded in Hastings Irwin (1910). An award for the Beaumaris Company of Loyal Anglesey Volunteers. This example would appear to have been awarded when the Battalion were on permanent duty in Beaumaris.
Due to the uncertainty that exists with the original provenance and manufacture of some early engraved Volunteer Medals, this Lot is sold as viewed.
