Lorenzo Perrault was born at Ottawa on 3 March and was married to Lucie Perrault, with issue of one child. Upon joining the C.E.F. on 19 July 1915 he was a Lumber Inspector by trade. Perrault served in France from 13 August 1916 and was present at the Battle of Vimy Ridge in early April 1917. On 31 July 1917, he joined the 4th Engineering Battalion in the Field and was promoted Sergeant on 1 September 1918 and was awarded his Military Medal by Corps Order No. 1899. He was wounded by gunshot to his chest, back, and right hand on 3 October 1918, during the Allied capture of the Hindenburg Line. Recovered from his wounds, he was discharged on 27 February 1919 and returned to Canada that March. Perrault died on 30 September 1954.
