Frank Copley was born at Camberwell in 1882 and was a photographer by trade. He joined the Army Territorial Force on 5 September 1914 and thence the Royal Flying Corps on 30 November 1916. Transferred to the Royal Air Force upon its inception, he served in France with No. 88 Squadron from 12 April 1918-24 February 1919. Having been discharged on 30 April 1920, his Medals were issued on 27 September 1923.
