China 1900, no clasp (C. Smith, Sto., H.M.S. Terrible.), very fine

Crawford Smith was born at Hull, Yorkshire on 11 February 1869 but was economical with the truth and stated his date of birth as 28 February 1873 upon his joining the Portsmouth Division of the Royal Marines (No. 7639) at Hull on 30 May 1894. He transferred to the Royal Navy (No. 289480) on 21 July 1898 and served aboard Terrible during the China 1900 operations. During the Great War he served aboard Maidstone from 3 September 1914-20 October 1916. He was demobilised ashore on 15 March 1919; sold together with copied Service Record.
