Great Britain: Middlesbrough & Guisbrough Railway Company, certificate for New ordinary share of £25, 1857, #223, attractive piece with vignette of steam train with factory and town in background, black, lower right corner cut away as cancellation. Incorporated on 17th June 1852.
A 9 mile line connecting the towns and forming a junction with the Middlesborough and Redcar line, opened in 1854. It was absorbed by the Stockton and Darlington Railway, and became part of the North Eastern Railway from 1863. VF.
