Great Britain: Old South Sea Annuities, inscribed stock receipt, 184[1853] transferring stock to Robert Tritton, rector of Morden, Henry Hoare, church warden, and others, black printing on blue-grey paper. After the collapse of the South Sea Company in 1723 the Government agreed to exchange half of the shareholdings for Government Stock, called South Sea Annuities. In 1733 half of the remaining shares were also exchanged and this gave rise to the New South Sea Annuities. Slightly trimmed but near EF.
