1871 (Nov.) envelope ex the Pescia correspondence to Genoa, marked "Via Brindisi", bearing ½a. (4, one with small faults) and 2a. (3), all clearly tied by framed diamond of 18 bars (Type K1), showing manuscript "above ½oz" (on reverse) with Italy Postage Due 30c. (damaged) and 60c. applied and cancelled on arrival and, on reverse, legible "mandalay" c.d.s. in red, Calcutta, Brindisi and arrival datestamps; the envelope with tear through back flap. A rare and attractive franking, being one of only about six recorded covers
