1862 (31 Oct.) envelope from St. Pierre carried inland to Precheur, bearing well margined 40c. tied by dotted lozenge with St. Pierre c.d.s. at left, the 40c. was largely used in combination with other values to make up the foreign rates, this very fine single franking paying a rare double internal rate of 40c. is very rare, Maury 5, and 1864 (26 Feb.) printed matter rate envelope (soiled and portion missing in lower right corner) from St. Pierre to Bordeaux, bearing 1c. pair, (just touched at left) and 10c., tied by despatch c.d.s.;some tone spots though a very rare and late usage.
