Sikh Rulers of Patiala, Rajindar Singh (1876-1900), Rupee, 11.00g, mint name off flan, VS(19)48 (1891), struck in the name of Ahmad Shah Durrani, katar to left of Patiala emblem (KM Y# 6), natural edge split, obverse a little weak, cleaned, good very fine

Ranindar Singh inherited the state from his father Mahindar Singh when still a child. He was educated in Cambridge University, and was also awarded the Grand Cross of the Star of India in 1897. A great sportsman, he is said to have had 365 wives, and died in a riding accident in 1900.
