James II (1685-1688), Guinea, 1685, first laureate head variety left, two low leaf tips, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, five strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 8.32g, 7h (Farey 260; EGC 321; MCE 123; Spink 3400), lightly cleaned with some flecking, a small bruise at reverse 1 o'clock and a scratch across face, otherwise almost very fine for strike
