Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (26849 Serjt: J. P. Griffiths. 2nd Coy. Imp: Yeo:), edge bruising, very fine

John Parry Griffiths was born in Glamorgan in 1877 and was a bank clerk also serving in the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, Welch Regiment upon his joining the Imperial Yeomanry on 15 February 1901. He served in South Africa during the Boer War from 14 May 1901-27 August 1902. By the time of the Great War he was Manager of the Lloyds Branch at Caerphilly and served as Hon. Treasurer of the Red Cross Hospital there from 1914-17.
