Horace Inwards was born at Luton, Bedfordshire in February 1880 and was a baker upon his enlistment on 22 May 1899. He served in South Africa during the Boer War from 17 December 1899-16 May 1900 (Queen's Medal & 3 clasps), being discharged in May 1911.
