Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (9325 Pte. W. C. Prophit. 1st Coy. Wilts: Imp: Yeo:), very fine

William Cragie Prophit was born in 1865 at Dunrossness, Shetland and was listed as a 'Gentleman' upon joining the Imperial Yeomanry at Trowbridge on 20 January 1900. From Haywards Heath in Sussex, he died of Enteric Fever at Winburg on 21 March 1901, leaving behind his wife (Edith Constance) and two sons (George C. and William J.G. Prophit); the Medal Roll notes entitlement to the clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State, and South Africa 1901.
