Percy Arthur Underwood was born at Stoke in June 1890. Enlisted with 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers on 18 August 1908, he entered the war in France on 22 August 1914. Underwood was discharged on 14 July 1919 with the rank of Acting Quartermaster, further entitled to 1914 Star, with clasp and roses and Silver War Badge, No. B340783.
