British War Medal 1914-20 (2994 Pte. G. S. Kilby. Glouc. Yeo.), good very fine

George Seymour Kilby served with the Gloucestershire Yeomanry, entering the war in the Middle East on 15 September 1915. He was transferred to the Corps of Hussars with the number 235620 and later taken as a prisoner of war by the Ottomans. Transported to Asia Minor, Kilby died in captivity on 22 May 1916. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Basra Memorial, Iraq.
