British War Medal 1914-20 (3228. Cpl. J. Whelan. R. Mun. Fus.), edge bruise, minor contact marks, very fine

John Whelan was born in 1890. Enlisting with the 6th Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers he joined the war in France on 7 November 1915. Later transferring to the Machine Gun Corps, Whelan was discharged to the reserves on 8 April 1919.
