1911 Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary
'The Coronation of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary, 1911' a large album (36.5 x 80.05mm) bound in dark red-brown leather with delicate tooling showing the King's coat of arms, privately bound for Baron Blythswood and with his crest comprising various items (35) relating to the Coronation and the Blythswood family including press photographs, an invitation to the Coronation from the Earl Marshal's Office a ticket to the Coronation, invitation to Sholto Douglas, Lord Blythswood signed "George R", a further ticket of a different type to admit "The Lord Blythswood", a Homage Card signed "Blythswood", a red leather bound order of ceremony for the Coronation and separate order of service with coloured cover, a printed notice of the Coronation, a Carriage Pass to West Door, a ticket for the Royal Progress, a pamphlet issued by the Met. Police titled "Carriage Regulations for Westminster Abbey", a plan of tables for the "Luncheon of Welcome to the Representatives of the Dominion Parliaments, 19th June, 1911 and two black and white photographs of said luncheon. All items either pasted or tied in by ribbon, many have sadly succumbed to moisture though some remain in good condition. A superb group
