Part document signed boldly "Charles R" at the top., with an impression of his paper seal to the upper left, instructing that Garter Robes be provided for George, Duke of Northumberland, his illegitimate son by Barbara Villiers, Countess of Castlemaine. He was granted the title in 1683, presumably the date of the Garter. The lower part of the document and part of the lower right corner are missing, but still a perfect example of the King's signature.
