Albert Edward, Prince of Wales
1875 (26 Dec.) Autograph letter over six sides from Albert Edward in Barackpore to "Mrs. [Alice] Spencer" reading "Many, many thanks for your very kind letter ... I am so glad to hear that your little girl is better ... I am so very fond of my own children that I always feel deeply for those who have sorrow about theirs ... You have indeed raised my expectations that I may have the pleasure and good fortune of meeting you at Delhi ... There is to be a ball and we are in hopes of being able to arrange a picnic on the 16th. You ought to get a horse so as to be able to ride at the Review & Maneuvers which I hear are to be on a grand scale. We liked our visit to Madras very much and had two very good days hunting. There was also a capital ball at the Club and some very portly people ... There is to be a ball at Govt. House [in Calcutta]. Lord C.B. is very flourishing". Autograph removed though fine
