1858 (11 Aug.) envelope to Bordeaux, France bearing 1854 1/- dull blue (4) and 1854-55 6d. dull orange (all with generally good margins) cancelled by "136" barred circles, marked "Registered" in red ink with Sandhurst dated oval, London small crown/"registered", the standard-type London registered dated oval (18.10) and "PD" in oval, handstruck "d6" in black which has been crossed through, Calais transit and straight-line "chargé", various backstamp including Eagle Hawk despatch oval, Melbourne and some French transit c.d.s. The French wax seals have been cut off leaving some holes on the reverse. There is a horizontal crease which is clear of the adhesives.
