1841 (11 Sept.) printed entire to Macclesfield bearing 2d. deep blue, plate 3, QC-QD horizontal pair (close to large even margins all round) just tied by black Maltese Cross, marked "Registered 295 1/-" in ink and with Lombard Street Maltese Cross despatch datestamp.


A magnificent and highly appealing cover being the earliest recorded example of the 1841 2d. on registered cover. The 1841 2d. is rarely encountered on covers used during the year of issue
