1859 (22 Apr.) commercial wrapper from Hamburg to Canton "pr Overland Mail via Marseilles" with a good strike of the Hamburg despatch c.d.s. (9.3), Valencia transit (11.3) and unframed "P.P.", "9¼" rate mark (groschen) in orange crayon, the reverse with a partial strike of Hong Kong type 13 c.d.s. (22.4) and a manuscript note showing receipt in Canton (25.4). There are a couple of light vertical filing folds and some peripheral soiling, nevertheless an early incoming cover via the new Post Office in Canton
