1858 (7 Sept.) envelope with enclosure to Alex Gibbon in Canton "via Marseilles" and bearing 1855-57 4d. pair with 1d. Red tied by Aberdeen duplex and bearing, on the reverse, Hong Kong type 9 c.d.s. (25.10); the envelope is marked on the front "Recd 26 Oct". It is thought that this letter was delivered to Whampoa first as the regular postal service between Hong Kong and Canton was not re-established until 4th November. Clean and fine
