1942 (13 Dec.) entire letter, carried privately from J. Anthon in Macao to a Captain in Manila, an update of the situation reads, "The Chinese have had another row up at Canton and have burnt down three of the factories. It originated with some lascars who were up in the city on liberty and got fighting with the Chinese. Mr Steard I believe was the only one that showed any fight, he show six or seven of the Chinese with his musket. They do not think down here anything serious will grow out of it. The Chinese will have to pay damages.". A couple of folding creases. A clean cover
