1865 (23 Feb.) envelope from May Hill to Saxony, bearing 1d. pale blue and 2d. rose (8 with an L-shaped wing-margin block of six) all cancelled "A53", showing "(aus england per aachen) franco" datestamp in blue, London Paid (16.3) datestamp and oval-framed "pd", all additionally tying the adhesives, and with manuscript "1/4" in red crayon at lower left corner, May Hill and Kingston (24.2) datestamps on reverse; adhesives with a few imperfections, otherwise a most attractive franking with few covers recorded to Germany at this time.
