Goshen, "A44"
1860 (25 Feb.) entire to Liverpool, bearing 6d. lilac (lovely colour) pair both neatly cancelled "A44" and with "goshen/jamaica" P11 datestamp at left and with London Paid datestamp (16.3) at foot, the reverse with Kingston (26.2) and Liverpool (17.3) datestamps; the content including a newspaper cutting about a shipment of Peruvian guano bound for Jamaica. Foster only recording two such Goshen double rate Packet Letters to Great Britain. All 1/- rate covers from Jamaica are rare at this date. Photo
