1781 (24 Sept.) entire letter from "Swanwick (Estate)" "p Swift Pacquet" via London to Glasgow, rated "Pd 7½" Currency for a single letter under 100 miles, "1/-" UK inward Packet charge plus "8d" London to Edinburgh and "2d." Edinburgh to Glasgow, showing on reverse, manuscript "Rio Bueno", and faint 5th. Type "iamaica" alongside Edinburgh Bishop mark (3.12); some soiling though very rare with only one example recorded in Foster, this being a second. Photo
