Type T2 in a Single Line
1793 (21 July) entire letter from Kingston to "Georgia" plantation, deleted and re-addressed by the Post Office to "Mo(rant Bay)" to travel by the Windward Road, rated "7½" for a single letter rate up to 60 miles and showing, on reverse and refolded for display, partly fine "duncans" PS2 handstamp; the contents are a printed circular asking for subscriptions to help the resettlement of plantations in the "French part of Hispaniola" under threat from the French. The letter includes mention of joining with the Spaniards and the local commissioners residing "under American guns". Photo
