1876 (Sept.) envelope from Potchefstroom? to Scotland, bearing 1875-76 imperf 6d. deep blue with unclear cancellation and datestamp alongside, in combination with Cape 1d. and 4d. pairs cancelled by "1" in barred oval, showing clear Cape Town c.d.s. (13.9) with Meigle arrival datestamp (15.10) on reverse; the envelope with some peripheral faults. A good example of the short-lived 1/4d. rate (6d. internal Transvaal postage, 4d. Cape Colony internal rate and 6d. ocean rate), valid for only eight months. Photo
