1859 (13 June) envelope from Uitenhage to London, bearing 1855 white paper 1d. rose and 4d. blue in combination with blued paper 1d. brick-red, all with margins on two plus sides and twice clearly cancelled, showing red crayon "5", London Paid c.d.s. (29.7) at centre, despatch and Cape Town (15.6) datestamps on reverse; the envelope with flap missing and sympathetically cleaned. A very rare and most unusual combination franking of the 6d. rate which is believed to be one of only two such frankings recorded. Alcuri Certificate (1987). Photo
