The Bechuanaland Border Police
This Imperial unit was formed at Barkly West in August 1885 under Col. Carrington as uccessors of Warren's force. Besides carrying out police dutied and assisting with Postal Services they also saw action in the 1893 Matabeleland War as part of the Shangani Patrol.

Atkinson (G Troop), Bechuana Border Police, Fort Gaberones, Southern Protectorate", bearing Cape 2d. tied by c.d.s., showing blue crayon "2d" and, on reverse, Midland Up, Vryburg (11.10), Mafeking (17.10) and Gaberones datestamps.
