1858 envelope registered from Beechworth to Switzerland, bearing Octagonal 1/- strip of three (folded over bottom edge), pair and Emblem 4d. pair on laid paper (folded over top edge), all tied by Barred Numeral "6", rated "1/10" (deleted) and "4/2" in red, circular-framed "pd" in red, London Registered transit d.s. (20.12), Calais entry d.s., manuscript "6" (decimes), straight-line "charge" (additionally tying the 4d. pair) and, on reverse, despatch, Melbourne, Basel and Lugano datestamps; the envelope with small fault at foot clear of adhesives. A remarkable franking with 5/8d. being the highest for a registered cover to Switzerland. Photo
