James II (1685-1688), Crown, 1687 TERTIO, second laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, angles plain, edge lettered downwards, 30.11g, 7h (Bull 743; ESC 78; Miller 27; Spink 3407), some carbon spotting to hair, otherwise lightly toned and lustrous, a pleasingly uniform strike for issue, almost extremely fine, the reverse especially so
