Charles II (1660-1685), 'ANO REGNI' Error, Five-Guineas, 1679 TRICESIMO PRIMO, second laureate head right, rounded truncation, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, six strings to harp, +. DECVS.ET.TVTAMEN.AN O . . .REGNI.TRICESIMO.PRIMO . . . [sic for spelling and spacing] lettered upwards, 41.47g, 6h (EGC - [cf. 190 for type]; cf. MCE 20; King 104 same dies, albeit different collar spelling of ANNO; Spink 3331), the fields brushed and smoothed and probably skilfully removed from a mount with minimal trace of such at 12 and 6 o'clock, otherwise struck details a pleasingly bold very fine, the error edge previously unrecorded in the standard references works, presumably very rare thus
