Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War Issues, York, Shilling, 1642-1644, Type I, crowned bust left, rev. square topped shield over long-cross fourchée, EBOR above, 5.32g, 9h, m.m. lion (Besly 1C; Brooker 1090 same dies; North 2316; Spink 2870), square-topped flan and a die flaw through C or CAROLVS, the portrait somewhat rubbed, otherwise toned very fine / good very fine with a subtle flan wave suggestive of the rocker press process
