Anglo-Saxon England, Continental Series (695-740), Sceat, Series E/G, variety K, 'Plumed bird' right, bulbous body, pellet below neck with head curved round pellet-in-annulet, row of pellets above head, rev. beaded standard with central pellet-in-annulet and saltires in corners separated by trefoils. Crosses and pellets in margins, 1.12g (SL 87-40 plate coin; SCBI 69, 198 this coin; T&S pp. 196-221; JMP 96-7; Gannon 48, no. 173, 113, 172-4, Figs. 4.7a, 5.21b, 5.26a; Spink 791/800), some residual deposits, otherwise about extremely fine and a coin of considerable importance to the chronology and discontinuity of Northumbrian coinage between Aldfrith and Eadberht
