The Establishment of the Post Office
An official sheet bearing strikes of the different handstamps used in the Chinkiang Post Office with the large Chinkiang Postal Service c.d.s. dated 1894 (6 Aug.) and 1897 (1 Feb.) marking in manuscript red ink "Opened" and "closed" respectively, examples of the serif and non-serif lettered registered handstamps, Paid, To Pay and undated Chinkiang Postal Service bilingual postmark, all struck in purple; there is a vertical folding crease. A fine and desirable document. Also a small piece of paper bearing strikes of the 28mm double-ring Chinkiang Postal Service c.d.s. in purple dated 1894 (6 Aug.) and 1897 (1 Feb.) and marked in red ink "opened" and "closed".
