Great Britain: Herne Bay Promenade Pier Co. Ltd., certificate for 1 share of £10, 18[81], #70, black. This replacement pier was designed by Wilkinson & Smith and built to a fairly short length of only 320ft. It was improved in 1884 with the addition of a theatre and some shops and in the 1890's was mostly rebuilt to accomodate visiting steamers. Sadly closed in 1968 due to its dangerous state and since collapsed into the sea. EF.
