William the Conqueror (1066-87), Penny, 'Canopy' type, Huntingdon, Godric, 1.29g, 2h, 'sinister canopy ball between V and R', rev. + GODRIC ON HVNTE (Eaglen 297, dies Aa, no. 1 this coin, and [1999], pp. 83, table 25; N.843; BMC III; S.1252), some surface abrasions and striking softness otherwise a bolder fine/near very fine, and extremely rare with only one other coin of this type known to Eaglen - that example being 'chipped at 12 o'clock'
