Third Contract to and from Cape Town

Mail between Cape Town and Durban by the Union coaster Natal
1869 (20 Feb.) envelope (opened-out), complete with contents, from Kilmarnock to Umvoti, Natal, carried on the Roman third sailing under the third contract, bearing 1/- green cancelled by "203" duplex and showing, on reverse, London (22.2) and Cape Packet Devonport (23.2) datestamps; and 1872 (June and Aug.) envelopes from Pietermaritzburg and Saxmundham (posted in Durban) to England, both carried by the Natal to Cape Town, the first then by the European and the second by the Celt on homeward sailings with both bearing 1/- green, the first cancelled "1" in oval of five thin horizontal bars, the second with indistinct cancellation; a few small imperfections though an unusual trio
