1852 (25 June) entire letter from London "By the Steamer Hellespont" with London Ship Letter and despatch datestamps, carried during the GSSSCo's first and second packet contracts; 1852 (late) entire from Cape Town to London showing fine "general post office/cape town"; 1853 (Feb.) envelope and (July) entire letter form Cape Town, the first carried on the Great Britain returning from Australia and on the Harbinger returning from a private voyage to Australia, both in view of the uncertain dates of the GSSSCo's return service; 1854 envelope from Cape Town to U.K. by private ship after the collapse of the GSSSCo's packet; and 1855 (15 Jan.) envelope (with contents) from John Robertson of Cowen Tent to London, rated "8" and "1/-" and with Cape Town datestamp on reverse
