1851 (13 June) stationer's special cut-to-shape embossed frame envelope specially produced for overseas mail, from Guernsey "per Hellespont" to Cape Town and bearing embossed cut-to-shape 1/- green (faults and stains) cancelled with traces of "324" obliterator and showing embossing to the right of the adhesive, Cape rating of "4" when delivered at Cape Town, Guernsey and London datestamps on reverse. A most unusual item of Victorian stationery and typical of the thought at that time that white corners were to be cut away before use. See G.B.P.S. Journal article, January 1995
