1840 (July) entire letter from Cape Town per "Europe" to London with framed "india letter/liverpool"; 1841 (Aug.) entire letter from Cape Castle to Aberdeen showing framed "india letter/hastings" (In1) on reverse; and 1843 (31 Mar.) entire letter from Cape Town to Edinburgh showing "india letter/plymouth" (In4) on reverse; the last two with Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" datestamp on face. An unusual trio used after 10 January 1840 when a combined British sea and inland postage rate of 8d. single came in to effect
