Note: This error was first recorded in 1874 and was reported in the "Australian Philatelist" in September 1895, and listed in the 1899 Stanley Gibbons catalogue. Five examples are known, nearly all with minor faults, with another in the Royal collection. Two examples have not been seen since before WW2. This error is extensively detailed in the "Stamps of Victoria" by Geoff Kellow, page 169.
