4d. reddish lilac, First Transfer, double transfer with some letters of the word "queensland" and other portions of the upper part of the design doubled, unused; thinned at top. A rarity, being the only unused example recorded in private hands. There is another example in the Royal Collection. S.G. 53b, £5500. Photo

Note: The first recording of this error was by A.L. Pemberton in "The Philatelic Journal" in March 1951 of which a copy accompanies this lot. The doubling can be clearly seen at the top of the stamp. This is the stamp illustrated in the Stanley Gibbons catalogue.
