1902-12 a group of three ALS and one TLS including 1902 (1 Dec.) ALS from Sirdarieh, Cairo with mention of having "to rush off to Egypt to look after arrangements for keeping Cholera out of the army & the Sudan ... I have just come back from conducting the great K. of K. [Kitchener] to & from the Sudan, 1907 (9 April) ALS (part typed) from HQ Egyptian Army, Khartoum discussing with "Mr. Murdoch" "Lieutenant Magill's official application for the Egyptian Army", 1912 (8 Jan.) ALS from HQ Egyptian Army to Lt. Col. Crawford congratulating him on the turn out of the Egyptian Army, "Especially Hawkesley on the really good gallop past", and 1912 (3 May) TLS from HQ to J. P. V. Hawkesley on his leaving the Egyptian army, commenting also on his award of the 4th class order of the Osmanieh. A wonderful group.
