Great Britain
James Harold Wilson, Prime Minister
A unique and significant group comprising the childhood stamp album, a brown, cloth bound Stanley Gibbons 'Improved Postage Stamp Album", 14th Edition inscribed neatly in ink on the first page "J. Harold Wilson, 40 Western Rd., Cowlersley, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, Christmas, 1929", when Wilson would have been aged thirteen. While it is clear to see that the album was once well filled, most of the stamps have been removed. Sold together with a presentation booklet for the "Commemorative Stamps Produced by Sierra Leone to Mark the 20th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights", with signed foreword from Siaka Stephens (Leader of Sierra Leone), presented to Harold Wilson as Prime Minister, and a collection of c.135 first day covers and presentation packs (1956-1986) addressed to Harold Wilson as Prime Minister, two of which (1986 and 1987) signed by Wilson "Wilson of Rievaulx". A superb group
