A fascinating group of pamphlets and printed matter relating to Kitchener: a facsimile of Kitchener's 1915 (16 May) letter calling for 300,000 recruits, and pamphlets titled 'Commanders of the Empire', 'Britain's Great Men, Kitchener, The Man and his Campaigns', 'The Life of Kitchener' by H. F. B. Wheeler, mostly contemporary postcards commemorating Kitchener (29, including two silk), and c.200 pages from the 'London Illustrated News' covering the re-conquest of the Sudan from the advance of the Dongola (1896, to the Battle of Omdurman (1898).
