A group of letters, documents etc. (7) including 1810 part printed receipt for money "being the New Amount of 200 Days Bat and Forage allowance due". Signed C. Campbell by Colin Campbell, Lieutenant-General who served with Wellington in India and the Peninsular; the same receipt in different format signed "E J Macgregor Murray Capt." by Sir Evan John Macgregor-Murray, Major General Lieut and Assistant Adjutant General in Spain and Portugal, General during Peninsular; 1807 fragment of printed document signed "Robert Mackay" and "Frederick Adam"; 1813 Warrant receipt with secretarial signature of Lieutenant General Alexander Campbell in Mauritius and Il Bourbon; 1803 Free Front signed "Wm. Paget" by Lord Paget, Field Marshal; 1821 Free Front signed "Hill" by Rowland Hill, General during Peninsular; 1825 ALS from Admiral Sir George Cockburn explaining that Mr. Thackeray will be denied promotion; 1843 ALS from Sir George Murray and two 1852 and 1859 from Stapleton-Cotton Combermere. A good group.
